HELP for a "bulgarian" SR-2 !

Hi everybody SR-2 owners,

Unfortunately I can't speak German at all. It would be better if I can...that's why I will write in English.

My name is Dobrin. I'm bulgarian and I lieve in Sofia. Three monts ago I start to restore to new life my father's SR-2. Here in Bulgaria it's a vety dificult activity - belive me. It's dificult to find original parts, repair manuals or good advices for this model. Many people here (like me) loves this mopeds. We exchange between us new or old parts which are buyed many yaers ago from ours fathers. Some of us purchase new parts from German's e-shops via Internet but some time it isn't very cheap.

So, I need help about stop light of my Sr-2. There are two electrical bulb in the stop block. According to me one of them have to be for stop light but I can't find any stop switch there.

My questions are:
1. Is there any stop switch in SR-2' body and where is it ?
2. If there no switch what is the function of second electrical bulb ?

I will wait for your advice and your opinion.

There are not any reflectors under bulbs. The stop block has two red glasses. Both of them are transparent. No passive reverberator ("cat eyes") on the taillight.

Is there any possible my model to be an "export modification" with stop light ? It is buyed here in Bulgaria.

No, No, No, this is not a stopligt. I think, you have the "safety circuit". For this its need 2 bulbs. I´m searching the circuit for you...

Can you take a photo of the rearlight, please. Than we can have a look, whats it.

The SR2 haved two different rearlights, never a stoplight. But its possibil, for the export simson have it done.

I'll take a photo of the stop block. But I can do this on sathurday because my SR-2 is in my parent's house (in country side) . I go there every weekend.

I remebbered now that this moped had a "batteriegenause" but it doesn't work now. The batteryes was too old and they melted the cylinder box body

I think now, you have a SR2E, was build in 62 till 64. Because you have written "Batteriegehäuse" (underneath the fueltank). An old original rearliegt for this (1 "bulb" ,lamp) you can get from me. I will take a photo of this.

NorbertE, you said that second lamp probably is "safety circuit". Could you explain me what exactly does it mean ? Мay be this is the right ansfer of my question I think.

is it possible that your "SR 2" was buildt/sold with an taillight of the "Simson SL1 Mofa". This is a small round one. I have seen some SR 2 with this taillight but they was "repaired" later. Maybe this is the answer?

I saw taillight of "Simson SL1 Mofa" in Internet. It dosn't look as taillight of my SR-2 at all. The taillight of my model is the same as shown on the picture below BUT there are two lapms inside. I'll take the pictures and you will see them on monday.

The light you show is the old rearlight of SR2 till about 61/beginn62. Inside is one lamp. I can`t absolutely understand, how and why comes 2 lamps inside.

This original light (with one lamp) is in the community a "gold-dust-part" but you can get any newly-made article in any I-net-Shops.

Your question "safety-circuit": Not the second lamp (I´m still perplex ) ist the safety. The second line to the rearlight is the safety.

The reason why is easy: In the old circuit with one line to the rearlight was often the rearlamp damaged in this time switching the frontlight. With to lines to rearlight and mounting the rearlight without "Ground" this failure is minimized.

I'm reading now the Schaltplan "Sicherheitsschaltung".
I understand now: The voltage to the rearlamp always is applayed through the "long light" or "short light" resistance to the "ground". In this case the electricity will not be sharply during the switching. This make the circuit "safety".
Is it correct ?

Yes, absolutly correct

The photo below shows left the old rearlight ( without groundplate, I dosn`t have it here), middle the new rearlight an right the groundplate for new light. The groundplate for the old light is a little bit smaller, but have also only one of lamp.

I ask the guys here: Do anybody have in short time a photo of the old groundplate?
